Situated on a hill overlooking the medieval city of Volterra, MonteRosola is an estate of 125 hectares where we find vineyards, olive trees, woods, gardens, arable land and a lake.

The estate enjoys a microclimate that allows our vines to grow in excellent conditions, a regular breeze affects the health and energy of the vines, which in turn produce the best grapes. The company has been producing excellent wines since 2003, but it is in 2013 that a development path begins that leads to the current 23 Ha of vineyards and a cellar, self-sufficient for energy and water, with structures specifically built for wine tastings and events. The structure allows the fermentation vats to be loaded from above, using only the force of gravity. To maximize quality throughout the year, the most important processes are done by hand and range from pruning to managing the vegetation up to thinning and subsequent harvesting.

The latter is carried out by making a double sorting: on the bunch in the vineyard and on the grape in the cellar. The idea is to vinify only the best grapes that can guarantee us the best possible product. We only want the grapes we grow and we try to enhance them by following the “less is more” philosophy in such a way as to “touch” them as little as possible. For both red and white wine, fermentation is carried out by the yeasts present on the grapes in concrete vats in the shape of an amphora. Every year we work to produce the best Volterra wine possible.
